Public Health Hero – Oxfordshire Success

A key participant of Violence Reduction work across Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley has been awarded an accolade for her work improving data and information to help drive down violence.

Carrie Hartwell, an Emergency Department Community Safety Practitioner working for Oxford University Hospitals Trust, was nominated for the award by colleagues from the violence reduction unit who benefitted from work she had done to improve access to a dataset which helps community safety partners understand trends in violence across the county.

The Public Health Heroes campaign was set up by the UK Public Health Register to recognise individuals who make meaningful contributions towards local public health.

The Violence Reduction unit have worked with a number of colleagues from the NHS and Public Health England to ensure we are using the best possible information and intelligence to support our work.
